Following the discovery of a new source of rose beryl in Madagascar in 1910, George Kunz proposed the name Morganite at a meeting of the New York Academy of Sciences on December 5, 1910, in honor of his friend and client J.P. Morgan's financial support for the arts and sciences, and his gifts of important gems to the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Museum of Natural History in Paris. Morgan was one of the foremost gem collectors of the early 20th century, and his collection was assembled in part by Tiffany and Kunz, their chief gemologist.
As the magician of the heart, morganite has a range of healing powers. Therefore, it is considered a heart chakra gem or crystal.
The morganite enhances your nurturing side, and wearing jewelry made from gemstones will make you open up more and be open to love.
Due to its healing powers, the morganite allows you to invite love into your life and for love to ebb easily and flow out of your life with ease.
Morganite also helps to increase your levels of self-love, self-care, and self-esteem. So if you are looking for a confidence and self-esteem boost, morganite would be the ideal choice for you.
