What is Topaz?
There are two theories for topaz’s name: one was put forward by the Roman scholar Pliny, who believed it was derived from the Greek word "Topazios", which originally referred to the olivine abundant on the Red Sea Island called "Topaz", which locals mistakenly called topaz.
Another says it is derived from "Topas", meaning "fire". In 1737, a man named Henkel named Topaz after a description of the topaz gemstone that was abundant in Germany.
Topaz is one of the colored gemstones. Topaz, whose main chemical composition is silicate minerals, is produced in Brazil, Mexico, the Ural Mountains and Scotland, as well as in China's Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and Jiangxi provinces.
Many western countries like to make Topaz into beautiful jewelry to wear, because in the eyes of Westerners, Topaz is a talisman, its charming color can eliminate evil, purify their mind, so people choose Topaz as the November birthstone. Wearing a Topaz jewelry can give us the blessing of God and fill our life with warmth, sweetness and happiness.
